Last week in Phoenix, a 17-year-old male attempted an armed robbery at a gas station – but it didn’t go as planned. The store clerk was armed himself and wasn’t going to give up without a fight.

When the suspect demanded that the clerk open the register and hand over the money, the clerk drew his own gun and shot the suspect in the arm. As the suspect attempted to flee the scene on his bike, he realized his “arm didn’t work” and went to a nearby restaurant to seek help, as reported by ABC 15 Arizona.

It was there that the police responded, and the suspect admitted why he targeted gas stations: “They are supposed to just hand over the money and not try to stop anyone.”

He picked the wrong gas station.

The suspect has been charged with armed robbery for an additional crime in the days preceding this shooting and attempted armed robbery for the incident with this gas station.
