Arkansas’ Ron Duncan has a Significant Impact on Outdoors

Duncan’s seven-year term on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission had ended on Tuesday, June 30, and he has made a significant impact on Arkansas resources and people’s enjoyment of them.
Duncan had achieved results years before former Gov. Mike Beebe appointed him to the Commission in 2008. Duncan wound up serving two years as chairman of the Commission after a resignation of another commissioner.
Duncan, a retired public school educator, had made a lasting impact with his creation of The Fishing Club at Springdale’s Central Junior High, a project aimed at students needing a boost and a focus in their early teen years. The concept eventually became the nationwide Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs program.
