DeKalb, Illinois – Reed, J.D., and J.W. Ramp are back for episode 162 of the AR-15 Podcast! Before jumping into the main topic, the guys discuss some housekeeping and network news. If you’re going to the NRA show, the Firearms Radio Network is having a listener meet and greet at the Cardinal Hall of Fame Cafe. See the show notes for more details if you’re interested in meeting up. There may even be a free drink in it for you!

The main topic is a look at a less popular round for the AR platform, the 6.5mm Grendel. They start with what is the Grendel, where does it come from, and why was it designed. Next, they review some commercially available rifles chambered in this caliber. And finally, they move on to some tips and tricks for spec’ing and building your own 6.5 Grendel rifle. Some points of note, your capacity will drop from 30 to 26, and the Grendel requires nonstandard bolt and barrel for those of you interested in building your own.

The AR-15 Podcast encourages listener feedback. So write into the hosts if there is something you’d like to hear more about, write in with show …Read the Rest
