Any Day is a Good Day to Thank a Veteran

This past Tuesday, we celebrated Veteran’s Day. It’s kind of an interesting day because it is a day where veterans are offered free meals, discounts on services, reduced movie tickets etc. This is interesting to me because most of the veterans that I know (and I know many) shun any notoriety. Most veterans went about their service with quiet dignity and anonymity, preferring to be part of a team rather than an individual. To have a day where one must announce to every clerk that one is a veteran is a little awkward.
