Air Force Officials Warn ‘Storm Area 51’ Event a Bad Idea

Things go viral. You can’t really predict how or why, as it’s often the craziest of things that take off like wildfire. Case in point: Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us. The recently-created Facebook event seemingly captured the imagination of conspiracy theorists everywhere. Or at the very least, it sparked a meme-making machine that has the internet on fire. At press time, more than 1.2 million Facebook shooters marked themselves “Going” to the event, with another million “Interested.” Meanwhile, the U.S. Air Force is not amused.

“We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry,” says the event page. “If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens.”

Apparently, “naruto run” is some sort of anime action running style. Sigh. According to the post, this will be the presumed attendees’ secret weapon when storming the castle. You know, the Air Force, and it’s armories full of heavy automatic weapons, and I don’t know, jet fighters and such, it’ll never be able to handle a well-executed naruto run, right?!?
