Conroe, TX -(AmmoLand.com)- Aguila Ammunition is proud to announce that USA Sporting Clays Team world champion shooter, Derrick Mein, led the inaugural Copa Aguila as overall top scorer and the American champion.

With a combined two-day score of 180, Mein took home a prize pack totalling over $16,000 including a Perazzi MXS shotgun, Breitling Colt watch and more.

“It was an honor to be a part of this first-time event,” said Derrick Mein. “Intense heat and humidity combined with an extremely challenging course made this win all the more exciting.”

Aguila Ammunition’s inaugural Copa Aguila took place September 25-27 in Acapulco, Mexico at the scenic Club de Caza Tiro y Pesca de Acapulco. Over 220 shooters from the United States and Mexico participated in the sporting clays competition.

Other winners included Mexican champion, Leonel Fernandez; women’s champion, Diana Mein; amateur champion, Juan Carlos Guerra and fourth-place overall winner, Gary Fitzjarrell.
