A 13-year-old California kid was arrested Wednesday after he entered his Ontario school wearing a Ghostface mask, popularized by the 1996 slasher film “Scream,” and pulled a gun on his teacher and fellow classmates.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. at De Anza Middle School and led to a lockdown at the school, as well as two nearby elementary schools.
Police say after the boy pulled the gun, he ran out of the classroom and through a field, before jumping over a fence and running through two additional campuses. The teen then made his way to the backyard of a nearby home where police finally caught up with him following an intensive search.
Officers recovered a backpack containing the Scream mask and the gun, which was loaded, and the teen was arrested. No one was injured during the incident.
