Rapper, Georgia man sentenced for lying to firearms dealers during gun purchases

An Atlanta-area rapper and another Georgia man have been sentenced to two years in prison for lying to federally licensed firearms dealers during gun purchases.
According to a Justice Department news release, 23-year-old Jaleel Akeem Wulu, also known as rapper “Trill Castro,” and 24-year-old Malique Williams pleaded guilty to lying to multiple firearms dealers in order to purchase guns.
Williams told agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives that starting around December 2014 through November 2015 he purchased 26 firearms and sold all but one of them to Wulu.
Wulu would give money to Williams for the gun purchases and would sometimes tag along with Williams to pick out the exact firearms he wanted.
Several of the guns were recovered by law enforcement in Maryland and Ohio, as Wulu had lived in both states during the period when Williams was purchasing guns for him.
Many of the firearms were also recovered at crime scenes around the dates that the guns had been purchased for Wulu.
“Firearms trafficking continues to pose an ever-increasing risk to the safety and security of our communities,” said U.S. Attorney John A. Horn. “These two defendants made it possible for multiple firearms to be transferred out of Georgia into other states
