Dog for Gun Trade Goes Bad

This guy is even dumber than the criminal who shot himself in the leg with a shotgun.

A Mason City [Iowa] man convicted of trading his dog for a .22-caliber rifle that he planned on using to kill his son was sentenced to more than 22 years in federal prison on Wednesday.

U.S. District Court Chief Judge Linda Reade sentenced Billy Douglas Thorne, 58, to 262 months in prison, in part because of six prior felony convictions for crimes including armed burglary, according to a news release and court documents.
